Tuesday 19th December 2017
As we near Christmas (which I am very excited for by the way!) I've found myself thinking back over 2017 and how different my life is to this time last year.
A year ago, I was still employed on a part time basis at the organisation I had been with for nearly 9 years. During that time, I had achieved a lot in my career, yet towards the end, it wasn't leaving me with the same feeling of satisfaction and drive it once had. However, this had started to come back to me in abundance when I embarked on my qualification in Life Coaching and then started working with clients. And I ended 2016 working both roles.
Now fast forward a year and a lot has changed! I gave notice to my employer and went full time with my business. There have been many ups and downs over the year, as well as it being a steep learning curve, yet I would say it's been the best year career wise I've ever had!
There's also the difference this giant leap has made on me personally, which has been huge. I'm a much happier person and actually less stressed now! Even though running your own business can be incredibly stressful at times! Coaching has had such a positive impact on my life and that keeps growing as I work with clients and develop personally and professionally.
I feel I'm ending the year on such a high even though my business has actually only just started. I have so many ideas where I want to take it that I feel as though only my toe has been dipped in the water for now!
This leads me to think about what I'd like to achieve in 2018. I don't make New Years’ Resolutions as I don't think they work. I believe in truly thinking about what you want in life and how you will make that happen. I make plans with a goal at the end and what steps I need to take to get me there. I actually do this throughout the year too, not just at the start of January.
So here are some questions for you: What do you want your 2018 to look like? And what steps will you take to get you there?
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
